Rules
Below are the rules of the game. While we feel most writers should be familiar with these ideals already, we still wish to list them for the assurance that they will be adhered to.
All writers must be 18 or older.
Due to the mature content which shall be found within this game, we ask that all writers be of such age to join. Further more, as everyone collected here shall be adults - we expect them to act as such. If there is a problem which arises which can not otherwise be solved, please bring it to the attention of the Mods.
Keep IC/OOC Separate.
There will be a lot of chance for in-character drama to occur within this game. Please keep in mind that this is fantasy, and someone's character will most likely not represent who they are in real life. Also, we expect any out of character knowledge given beforehand of an event or discovery to be kept as such. There should be no 'all-knowing/seeing' characters in this game. Characters should be played with in-character knowledge and the awareness of the general world around them, nothing more.
No God-modding.
You're only in charge of your own character, and should not be making decisions or actions for others where their characters are involved. On this note, please understand that heavy maiming and/or death of a character can only take place with the permission of the writer who owns said character. We ask that all such issues be presented to the Mods beforehand, as well.
Actions beget reactions.
Though there is a 'no kill/heavy damage without permission' rule - we feel there is one stipulation towards character injury/punishment from one character to another. Remember that IC actions will have IC consequences - both good and bad. We request that you think out your character’s actions before they make them. Furthermore, if you can’t take the heat - just don’t go in the kitchen at all.
Pick An Appropriate Played-by.
While we're happy to accept celebrities from all countries and various walks of life, we'd like for our writers to select those who do not have a highly contemporary/modern feel to the appearances one wishes to use. Therefore, please take in to account the other characters found within the game already and try to pick someone who would be appropriate to an 'old world' setting. If you have a question towards a particular face you'd like to use, feel free to drop-box the Mods! Furthermore, we're only accepting PBs who are currently living.
There will only be 5 (five) characters per writer.
We'd rather not have people over tax themselves with too many characters. This cap will most likely not be moved higher or lower in the span of this game, so pick character concepts wisely!
Journals are a must, AIM is optional.
You may name your journal anything you'd like, and AIM is the same way - should you decide to use it. If you need an invite code to create a new journal, feel free to contact the Mods and we'll get back to you with one asap.
Activity will be checked once a month.
Each writer must have at least one threading/aim scene either in progress or complete at the time of checks. (There will be one week of warning before checks occur each time.) There needs to be physical actions made and physical reactions given for it to count as a ‘scene’. If these scenes are all left incomplete, a warning will be given. We understand that not all scenes will reach their conclusion from time to time, but there should be a majority that do rather than a minority.
Friend lock your entries, please.
All posts need to be friend locked but also kept available for the entire community to view and keep up with. So, friend lock yes, customs no. We want to know what is going on with your character, as that is a large part of being active within a community.
Detailed scenes rule.
All scenes need to be made in third person, past tense paragraphs that have some semblance of detail in them. Furthermore, all writers will be expected to have a good grasp of the English language and how grammar works. We are aware that everyone makes mistakes, we make many of our own - but it doesn’t kill a person to make sure they’re not dealing out a paragraph long run on sentence. Use proper capitalization. All applicants that do not will be rejected.
We believe in love and equality here.
We’re open to pairings of any and all types, as long as that is not a writer’s main focus for having characters within our community. We would, however, like to see that the sexualities are well balanced. Not everyone in the world is going to like their own gender, just as not everyone in the world is going to be attracted to the opposite. Finally, while we’re on this note about sexual situations: Mpreg (male pregnancy) is not a possibility in this community.
There are no computers in this world we're creating.
Therefore, we shouldn't see any thing like links to music or cute gifs hanging around on the community page. However, we're allowing the use of individual journals to act like paper or vellum journals. We'll also allow 'private messages' from one character to another - though they'd be handwritten notes rather than in-box messages or the like.
Above all things, have fun!
.... You need directions on this, guys? No? Good! Get together and create this wonderful world's present and future.
